PEI is hiring individuals to work as full-time or part-time tractor-trailer
drivers. This is a physical, fast-paced position that involves continual
lifting, lowering, loading, unloading, and moving oversized shipments. At
times, drivers may also have to verify shipping papers, prepare receipts for
load pick up, and collect payments.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years old
Must demonstrate the proof of past tractor-trailer driving
experience
Must possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL)
Should be available to work various shifts and days of the week
Should be capable of lifting heavy oversized objects using
forklifts, dolly and other equipment. Past experience with forklifts is
preferred.
Must have passed a physical examination within last 2 years. Main
physical requirements include good hearing, at least 20/40 vision with
glasses or corrective lenses, and a 70-degree field of vision in each eye.
Drivers can not be colorblind.
Must read and speak English well enough to read traffic signs,
communicate with law enforcement professionals and prepare reports
Salary: Competitive Wages
All drivers must comply with Federal regulations and any State regulations
that are stricter than Federal requirements.
All drivers must pass a pre-employment drug test. Drivers are subjected to
random, reasonable-suspicion alcohol and drug testing. A driver must have no
current clinical diagnosis of alcoholism, and must not use any drugs which
could affect his or her ability to safely operate a commercial motor
vehicle.
